A Few Years Ago I Doubled My Salary And Got Into The 6 Figure Club.

This is going to be a massive [THREAD] on how I did it.

Prepare yourself!
I was working the typical 9 to 5

Overworked, underpaid and underappreciated.

I told myself something better is out there waiting for me.

So I decided to go out and find it.
1. I asked myself.

What do I do better than the people around me?

What is something that comes so naturally to me that other people are looking for?

For me it's Leadership so I started looking for jobs in management.
2. I updated my CV.

I found a template online that I liked and got to work.

Pro tip:
Make sure you never go over 2 pages.

Keep it short and to the point.
3. I updated my LinkedIn profile.

Don't be surprised if a recruiter searches for you on LinkedIn. They did for me!

Pro tip:
Get over 500 connections since it's the maximum # of connections that shows on your profile.

So no one knows if you have 501 or 10 000
4. I wrote down a list of 10 companies I wanted to work for.

I went to the career section of their websites and applied.

Pro tip:
Never apply to more than 1 position per company at a time. It makes you looked confused at what you want to do.
5. I joined 3 job search websites and start looking for management positions.

Pro tip:
I found companies I had never heard of but were very interesting.

If a company interested me I researched to see if we shared the same values and tried to visualize myself working there.
6. I went to the interview prepared.

I brought copies of my CV, a note pad and I wrote down questions I wanted to ask.

Pro tip:
You are interviewing the company and your new boss as much as they are interviewing you.

After the interview if it doesn’t feel right walk away.
7. I found a boss who I wanted to work for and who believed in me.

This is THE most important factor in moving up.

Pro tip:
Someone once told me. It’s doesn’t matter how well you do if your boss doesn't like you.

Best career advice I ever got.
8. Have confidence every step of the way.

I walked in there like the interviewer was lucky I decided to show up and honor them with my presence.

Pro tip:
How you walk and talk is a reflection of your confidence. Make sure it shows
