So Labour Cllr Cath Davies in their clear campaign to be the Labour candidate for Mayor veiled as 'CathDavis4choice' open selection campaign. Cath released a video with Helen Smith. Had to google to remind myself why I recognised the name https://www.facebook.com/cathnorthtyne/videos/261930728483594/ 1/
Helen Smith in the past been the subject of an unfair dismissal claim from her time as CEO of the disastrously ran Waygood Gallery. Helen talks about being 'a self critical organisation' in the video if only Helen had of been self critical while at Waygood. 2/
From a financial point of view their refurb was £6m over budget and a report found the gallery’s business plan was neither realistic nor viable and there was a “worrying lack of strategic and management skills” if only they had of been self critical /3
With regards to the employment tribunal, something Labour have been critical of the Tories for destroying and something the Labour movement fought to get established in the first place. Helen has been found to be in the wrong by an employment tribunal. /4
It found Helens behaviour towards staff was described as “not normal and unpredictable” after the tribunal heard Mr Qur’et was sacked after being accused of “staring” at his boss in an intimidating fashion, evidence the panel found to be “entirely lacking in credibility”. /5
“There are many possible reasons why Helen Smith lost her composure and her temper. We heard evidence that she had bullied other staff, the implication being that she was prone to lose control.” Her defence was found to be "untrue and bordered on ridiculous" /6
Helen like many on the extreme left of the party appears to be a hypocrite, preaching fairness equality and calling the Tories out for things Helen has done on. Helen asks About to be self critical but clearly wasn't at Waygood. /7
So my question to @cathnorthtyne is Helen someone you should be associating with considering her history with bullying workers? From my perspective it shows a clear lack of judgement from Cath, a judgement I'd want nowhere near being the Mayor of our borough. 8/8
1 of 2 things needs to happen now @NormaRedfearn @NTynesideLab need to get a grip and defeat the hard left and keep a sensible mayor, or @N_TynesideTory need to elect a sensible candidate, those of us unaligned can get behind, we cannot allow the hard left to take over NT.
