... I'm tempted to do something different nowadays.

Whenever Karen Rowling gets on her bullshit, I'm going to start talking about a world I'm building, since that's more fun and fucking productive than forcing myself to read garbage that will just make me hate myself for hours.
Anyway! In this world, more than 400 years before a massive realm-shattering event, there was an epic war between humans and non-humans, which raged for years upon YEARS. Thousands died, as the humans crossed swords with oni, succubi traded spells with thaumaturges, and the like.
At the head of the non-humans was Ashram ral Metallium, a mysterious leader whom few have seen his face and lived to tell the tale. The closest came to him was meeting with Kuu: a flirty, often snarky and sardonic succubus who stood by Ashram since time untold, so the legends say
I'll leave it at that, but I encourage people: Instead of feeding J. Karen Rowling the attention she *so* craves, drown out her hateful bullshit with cool shit! Prove that we don't need her to make amazing fantasy worlds come to life!
(Also: Quick spoiler: Folks who backed the BESB Kickstarter's got a preview of this world as part of their rewards. I wrote what was essentially the first REAL chapter of this saga as a custom adventure for them. It took a while - but I'm happy with that result. ❤️ )
Screw it. I wanna talk about my world some more.

What happens, and stuff goes down in the battle. 500 years later, give or take, the world is vastly different. Humans and nonhumans came to an accord and live side by side.
Just outside of the glimmering city-state of Lancaster is Armun: a smallish city that was an early enclave where humans and nonhumans came together in harmony. It's a fairly sleepy town, filled with friendly people, who go about their lives in the day to day bustle.
Cars drive down lanes dotted with strip malls and corner stores, and it's easy to forget that you're just a metro ride from the glimmering metropolis.
It's here that Armun Tech, a prominent university, resides. Im this school, there's an archaeology department headed by Dr. Sturlusun - a dullahan whose brilliance is often overshadowed by her absent mindedness.
Like, if you asked if she ever locked her head in the car I'd say "which time? 😂"
That's to say nothing of the time she forgot her head in the faculty break room fridge.

Poor Prof. Morrison. He went to get a yogurt before Calc III, but ended up with a genuine fright! 😅
Anyway, in Doc Sturlusun's class are two students I want to talk about. They're Ashelyn "Ashe" Connolly, and Skye.

They're childhood friends and roommates who live in a two-bedroom apartment with their cat, Tigress.
Ashe is a wage slave, who slings Java at the Tunebucks coffee shop every day, and takes classes at night. She deeply aspires to Doc Sturlusun's level as an archaeologist.
Deep down, she hopes she can find a career that doesn't involve wearing a green coffee-stained apron, but as long as she has her friends and great anime, she knows she can be content.
And then there's Skye... She's a harpy, and Ashe's roommate.

And, well, you know how they say a good writer makes friends with their characters? Skye's basically my best friend in that light.

I straight-up *adore* Skye.
She's cheerful and friendly, and she's just so positive and wants to see her friends live their best fucking lives ever. She's a big fan of thrifting and bargain hunting, and often likes to wear her biggest finds like a queen strutting around the head of a slain foe.
She's quirky, she's geeky when she wants to be, and she'll do whatever it takes to help a person out when they need it. Shit, she'll even inspire you to fly, and encourage the shit out of you as you plummet to the ground.

... ... ... Then she'll feel sorry and sign your cast. 😅
And look, I haven't even begun to talk about Safira, a no-nonsense Undyne who works with Ashe at the coffee shop, who deals out kindness and snark in equal measure, and has bailed Ashe's sleepy ass out on more than a few occasions.
