I haven't seen a thread specifically highlighting Black parasitologists so I wanted to start one (sorry if I missed 1). Please add anyone that I have missed! Also if you are a Black parasitologist & you have a paper/project that you want amplified please share & I will retweet!

@Black_Ecologist studies the microbiome of kissing bugs and the transmission of Chagas.

@rejoicePhD studies malaria & how host factors influence disease outcomes

@DrGuiton studies Toxoplasma and the proteins it uses to initiate infections.

@TapokaM studies whip worms and the effects of the microbiome on these parasites.

@DeBroski1 studies helminthes and how hosts try to protect themselves from these parasites.

@josemalinga studies the spatio-temporal patterns of Plasmodium falciparum

@estherkanduma studies the genetic diversity of ticks & the parasites they vector

@LambaSangare studies Toxoplasma biochemistry and parasite-host interactions

I will be reading the work of these parasitologists over the next few days & I plan to incorporate some of these papers into my parasitology lectures for the fall semester. I encourage my fellow parasitologists to do the same!
