Greta Gerwig’s Little women is a heartwarming movie and anyone who’s going to adopt the Louisa May Alcott’s novel is going to have a tough time bettering Greta’s vision!
Just like the 150 years old novel, the movie is going to stand time!

Little women - it’s the calmness that follows a heavy rain - the morning sunshine that wouldn’t hurt a baby – the leaves that decorate the roads - a dog's first snow - the feeling you get on finishing a good book.
It’s all the good things in the world!

The movie is so thick and detailed – the characters are quite conscious about others and themselves.
Either they talk about who their sisters are or they show us who they think they are deep in their minds!

1. Jo, in the boarding place, picks up a cat and says, “My Beth would like you very much.”
2. Jo, who always thinks that she isn't good enough, on accidentally cutting meg's hair says, “I’m sorry! You shouldn’t have asked me to do it. I ruin everything.”

3. Jo, on learning that Amy isn't coming any soon says, "Amy has always had a talent for getting out of the hard parts of her life."
They are all in neatly composed music; there isn’t a single note that sounds odd!

I thought I would place my opinion regarding this popular opinion, “Jo should have ended up with Laurie!”
I don’t think so.
Laurie is indeed a good person.
He’s charming. He’s generous.
But, I think being generous isn’t enough.
Because this woman has a personality!

They do get along easily.
But he cares less about what Jo cares more; writing.
On the other hand, Friedrich, the professor sends her Shakespeare novels and volunteers to read her works. When she’s gone he’s upset and enquires where she’s gone and goes all the way to her home.

Isn’t that enough reason why he deserves to win Jo’s love? Yes, she does write a letter to Laurie. But in the very next second, you see her dreaming and it’s her first seeting of the professor; her first day in the city.
Leave all that!
There is one dreamy scene in the movie which is actually my favorite moment of the movie – Friedrich, sitting in the middle of the hall, looks back and smiles looking at Jo, who is standing at the last, in a dream, all smiles, enjoying the play!

As Amy said, Beth is indeed the best of them; the least appreciated of the sisters.
When Meg comes spraining her ankle, Beth is the first to help.
When Jo is all broken on hearing that the novel’s been burnt, she cries resting on Beth’s shoulders.

When Amy says that her nose is no good, she’s the first to say, “I like your nose.”
She tells it straight away!
Also, I loved the relationship she shared with Mr. Lawrence. There is something in this hug, it's so comforting like meeting an old friend!

Years later, when I think about the movie, the first few things that would come to my mind are, Jo's reluctant smile, Amy's honey voice, the way Meg smiles on holding the babies, Laurie's charm, Beth playing the piano, the village and the sisters themselves sharing smiles!
Little women is a happy place!
