I& #39;m thinking about all the kinds of support people relatively new to & #39;race talk& #39; actually need.
One of the biggest steps that white people and anyone else new to conversations about racism can do is to examine #whiteness.
Of course, it& #39;s important to read and hear from Black people. But attention to grasping the comprehensive power and influence of #whiteness on our whole society may often be overlooked.
So here& #39;s a thread of resources by white and Black folks talking about this very topic! A great starting point is the podcast series #SeeingWhite. It& #39;s impossible to go wrong here. https://www.sceneonradio.org/seeing-white/ ">https://www.sceneonradio.org/seeing-wh...
Many of you will have heard of the book #WhiteFragility by Robin DiAngelo. I highly recommend it. Perhaps more valuable still is an accompanying discussion guide for educators by @ValeriaBrownEdu

While I realize you are probably up to your ears in resources to learn from, I still want to respond. I also urgently want you to & #39;get it.& #39; While this may not be my job, believe me when I say I am working in my own self-interest. No joke.
