This is the first time we have received mass DMCA claims against clips. We understand this has been stressful for affected creators and are working on solutions, including examining how we can give you more control over your clips.
We adhere to the DMCA, which requires that we take action on content and streamer accounts upon notice from rights holders, as happened this week. Our guidelines for music have not changed, so please reference them here. https://www.twitch.tv/p/legal/community-guidelines/music/

First, we will begin the work to extend our use of Audible Magic to identify existing clips that may contain copyrighted music and delete them for you without penalty. Over the coming months, this will cover newly created clips as well.
Here’s more information on how Audible Magic works: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2014/08/06/important-changes-to-audio-in-vods-35939b33ee2a/
Second, we are building the ability to delete all of the clips on your channel more easily–stay tuned for an update in a few weeks when that’s ready. You can already choose to disable the creation of new clips in your channel settings here: https://link.twitch.tv/myChannelSettings
There is a lot of misinformation circulating about how to protect your channel. While deleting or disabling clips can help, if you don’t have the rights to music you are at risk of a takedown request from rights holders.
This applies even if you’re just playing it in the background or for a few seconds – It is entirely within the rights holder's discretion if and when to issue takedown notifications.
We value the work of songwriters, musicians, and other creative artists. As a company committed to supporting creators, we respect, and ask our users to respect, the intellectual property of those who make music and those who own or control music rights.

1) Individually download Clips of your channel, like your most viewed
2) Delete all of your Clips with one click
In the coming months we'll continue to add features which help improve control of your Clips.
A quick update about our ongoing work to give you more control over your content and help you make informed choices about using music on your channel, while respecting the rights of our music community partners:
We recently created educational resources and have improved the tools available to help you manage live and recorded content on your channel. For additional information, please check out our Creator Camp article here: https://twitch.app.link/bJNQehHtDab
We also recommend checking out sources of licensed music for streamers, such as Monstercat Gold, Soundstripe and Soundtrack by Twitch, the rights-cleared music tool we created to simplify the process of live streaming with music.
Deleting or disabling Clips & VODs can help but if you don’t have the rights or authority to use music, you are at risk of a takedown request from rights holders. Please see our DMCA Guidelines for more info, including how to submit a counter-notification. https://twitch.app.link/xHP6ActtDab
Join us tomorrow at 2pm PST for a live Creator Camp session hosted by @jezforrester and @aureylian. They’ll give a rundown on the basics of copyright law, share the tools available to help you manage your channel, and answer questions from Chat. https://twitch.app.link/avGwMSgtDab
We are incredibly proud of the essential service Twitch has become for so many creators, including songwriters, artists and other music industry partners, during this challenging time. It is critical to us that their rights are respected.
