I feel obligated to speak out over something which has gone on too long.
I need to talk about Wheelchair Rapunzel.
First and foremost, her co-opt of Black Lives Matter into "Disabled Bodies Matter", followed by dismissing many of the Black community’s concerns with it.

Initially she said she discontinued them—she said it again recently. (photos
taken a year apart)
But as recently as this week, items with the phrase were still being sold.
Despite her claims otherwise on June 4, two were still up. One is still.

The issue, as reiterated many times, is appropriating and profiting off another oppressed group’s movement. Specifically, Black people.
The remaining item must be removed.

Also:
Selling “autism” shirts, for profit, without collaborating with an autistic person? Not good.
Using a phrase that perpetuates antiquated stereotypes? Worse.
Repurposing the design and phrase from "Autism Inclusion" to "Rainbow Inclusion".. during Pride? No.

Of course, this was likely meant as a compromise for the autistic community as we'd been expressing concerns to her (non-autistic).
But abruptly switching to imply it’s queer inclusion (imo) deflected from the issue and deferred to profits from another oppressed group.
