Why I personally would not buy Zarzou Serum 😊

Disclaimer: I'm not a dermatologist/aesthetician. This whole thread is based on what I've read and experienced. Take it with a grain of salt as i might be wrong in some points if not all, due to my lack of knowledge.
In this thread, I'm going to link some articles and whatnot. Korang kena bukak dulu the article, scroll ke page yg saya mintak then baru sambung balik baca the thread. Kalau tak, korang mungkin akan persoal benda yang that article/link dah explain.
Untuk yang malas baca the whole thread, in short saya okay je dgn Zarzou Serum sebab ingredients list sangat-sangat tak bermasalah (checked online). The reason I'm not going to buy it is personal (my skin's preference, other better options). So, yeah silakan baca
Firstly, kita mulakan dgn ingredients list. Just amazing 👍🏼 Ada Hyaluronic Acid (hydrating), ada Glycerin (hydrating), ada Arbutin (brightening), the fruit extracts semua bagus (Paula's Choice). But personally, saya tertarik sebab ada Vitamin C.
Untuk yg tak tahu Vit C is a very good antioxidants. Tapi korang tau tak apa masalah dengan Vit C dalam Zarzou Serum? It is listed below 'phenoxyethanol'. Korang Google "Zarzou Serum full ingredient list" then korang akan nampak Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) comes after phenoxyethanol
Now, korang pergi ke link yang saya kasi ni then u scroll all the way down to page 188 and tengok maximum concentration of phenoxyethanol allowed. It's 1%. https://www.frim.gov.my/v1/herba/Cosmetic%20Guidelines.pdf
Now, mengikut undang-undang negara kita, listing ingredients mesti in descending order of the weight (tekan link, go to 3.1 c). Meaning the first ingredient in the list is the highest in terms of percentage per volume followed by lesser ingredients. https://www.npra.gov.my/images/Guidelines_Central/Guidelines_on_Cosmetic/2017/feb2017/Annex_I_part_7-COSMETIC_LABELING_REQUIREMENTS.pdf
So, anything listed below phenoxyethanol is lower than 1%, sebab maximum concentration allowed of phenoxyethanol is 1% 😂 And my God, Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) is listed after the phenoxyethanol... Ada masalah ke dengan Vit C yg lower than 1%? Jawapannya, ada. It's ineffective 😦😦
The problem yg aku ada dgn this serum sebab dia highlight tau kt website "What are my Key Ingredients?" And diorang list Hyaluronic Acid, Vit C, and Arbutin when it's proven that Vit C at such a low percentage is basically... ineffective. Sebab tu aku pelik nape tak tulis sekali
squalane sebab squalane pun a good ingredient (Paula's Choice) and dia list Squalane sebelum Ascorbic Acid kot. Maybe sebab diorang rasa Vit C lagi familiar and appealing to customers kot daripada squalane? I don't know about that itu diorang punya marketing decision 😳
So yeah, basically aku tak suka serum ni sebab
1) Concentration of Vit C yang rendah
2) My skin doesn't like Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Marine Hyaluronics in high concentration sebab tacky
3) My skin like Vit C better than Arbutin (both are brightening ingredients)
Now, would I buy this serum? Absolutely not sebab reasons I've stated before but would I recommend it to others? Absolutely yesss sebab Hyaluronic Acid and Arbutin are in high concentration 😍 Dengan semua extracts yg antioxidants lagi memang mantap 👍🏼👍🏼
Aku cuma tak suka sebab diorang letak Vit C as one of the key ingredient when actually... it is so low in concentration 😭 Itu je, meaning it is ineffective. Why would u mention something ineffective as your key ingredient?

Next up is product recommendation 🤩
So untuk siapa yang baca the Vit C article from Healthline, 8% just nice right? I'd recommend u to buy The Ordinary 8% Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin 2% becauseee they're great when combined together baca link ni 😂😂 https://incidecoder.com/products/the-ordinary-ascorbic-acid-8-alpha-arbutin-2
tapi kalau siapa yg tokleh tolerate alpha/beta arbutin (basically same dua ni) and still nk brightening ingredients, go with Vit C (not Zarzou sebab percentage low) serum from Klairs, The Ordinary or niacinamide, pun a very good brightening ingredient 👍🏼👍🏼
So, to conclude 🤩 I love the serum's ingredients. memang elok sangat-sangat. kalau korang nak serum yg concentrated with Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Arbutin, great Plant Extracts, this is a good serum (from ingredient punya point of view) 🤩🤩👍🏼
So yeah, once again I'm not a dermatologist/aesthetician so take everything I've said with a bit of doubt. Google to double check my facts, and betulkan kalau ada mana-mana yang salah. thank u for reading the whole thread and semoga kulit kita sentiasa sihat 365 days a year 😊😊
