What to do when people leave:

Understand a journey requires constant visitors and constant stops. Nothing pauses. Energy moves. Though they were your favorite, the world kept spinning.

Understand that at times people will be a rainbow for others in the midst of a storm but eventually, the weather changes. Embrace that you’ve done this too.

Do not abandon your post standing guard for the happiness of others.

People anchor on to you because something you have shows them their worth. But the ocean is an ocean regardless of how many ships drown or float.

Get a journal and write the meanest words. Scribble until the ink dries. Then burn everything.

Yes they may have shed light on parts of you that you never knew could compare to treasures in a chest. But now you do.

Bury your head in the things you used to love like it’s the first time and don’t come up for air until you’re back to the center.

Make peace with the fact that you were whole before they found you. And it’s only a matter of time before the mason recognizes its home.
