The reason why so many people revel Obama is because he provided the illusion of comfort. He was able to diffuse situations by blanketing them in messages of togetherness, while only promising the bare minimum of progress which proved enough to hold people off until the next 1/

Of the protests, serving as reason for people to disregard the whole thing. If people dared to riot, the media and people who felt like exemptions would immediately focus only on what made the protestors look bad not the state violence. As if they were overreacting to isolated 4/

Incidents. “it was only these couple of people who were murdered do you really think it calls for violence?” YES BITCH. Government Servants should not get away with murdering people. They should not have immunity for it because of their job title. 5/

Any illusions of comfort that people once maintained have been decimated by the blatant state sanctioned violence we are witnessing under this administration. 6/

The people that ~really~ hate Obama hate that he had the audacity to make minorities feel somewhat safe in the US, like we could progress through our own E+ efforts. While everyday 45 goes out of his way to remind us that we do not belong here, we are unwanted here. 8/

45 still has a supportive base with 100,000+ deaths, unemployment at an all time high, and protests in all 50 states, because he will still bypass all those failures to continue to hurt minorities. Cruelty is the point. 9/

Tr*mps only platform is that he will do what it takes to maintain white supremacy even if that means dividing and burning down the country. That is all the people who support him stand for. 10/

People have every right to fight injustice and the Un*t*d St*t*s has never once granted people who were non white males rights without them having to burn shit down first. 11/

I really can’t express how much it fills my heart to see people unfazed by violent riots rhetoric that’s forced on them through the media. As a high schooler during the Ferguson protests (this deserves a seperate thread) my history teacher made us watch the Eric Garner video 12/

In class then debate on whether or not the riots were justified. At 16-18 I did not have reading I do now to express as to why I did not give 2 fucks that people were burning down the institutions that oppress them. I was unable to express equating property to black lives was 13/

A direct result of the enslavement of black people and to disregard a movement because of property damage was a way stay ignorant to the reality that we live in a police state that can and does murder citizens to maintain order and gets away with it. 14/

It took 45 as president, the pandemic, unemployment, death, and still racism for people to feel justified in their anger against this corrupt ass government. At least now the gaslighting doesn’t work. 15/
