Huge discrepancies in the DA's complaint against Derek Chauvin, accused of murdering George Floyd, and Attorney General Keith Ellison's complaint against Chauvin.

The DA was much more favorable to Chauvin and police.
DA: "Officer Lane handcuffed Mr. Floyd. Mr. Floyd actively resisted being handcuffed."

AG: "Officer Lane handcuffed Mr. Floyd."

DA says he resisted, AG does not say he did. (DA notes Floyd's size, AG doesn't.)
DA: "Once handcuffed, Mr. Floyd *became compliant* and walked with Officer Lane"

AG: "Once handcuffed, Mr. Floyd walked with Officer Lane," period, no "became compliant."
AG: "When Mr. Floyd sat down *he said 'thank you man' and was calm*." Lane "noted there was foam at the edges of his mouth."

DA said nothing about Floyd's "thank you," his calm, or foaming at the mouth—a sign of respiratory distress.

(I flipped the order for ease.)
DA: Officers "made attempts" to put Floyd in car and he "struggled with the officers by intentionally falling down."

AG: Officers "were trying to force" Floyd in when he "said that he could not breathe."

"Intentional falling" is out. Floyd saying he didn't resist is in.
AG quotes Floyd saying "I'm about to die."

DA does not have that quote.
DA: "Video shows Mr. Floyd *continue* to move and breathe. At 8:24:24, Mr. Floyd stopped moving."

AG: "While Mr. Floyd showed slight movements, his movements and sounds *decreased* until at 8:24:24, Mr. Floyd stopped moving."
DA portrays Floyd non-responsive state as sudden, AG says it was gradual and self-evident to police.
DA said Floyd resisted arrest, period.

AG says he didn't resist, so Chauvin and cop's use of force is felony assault; in commission of that crime, Chauvin unintentionally killed Floyd, hence second-degree murder; other officers aided and abetted the assault-turned-murder.
The George Floyd in the AG's complaint is a lot different than the man portrayed in the DA's complaint. The AG says Floyd was calm, polite, compliant—and once police started their assault, he foamed at the mouth, said he couldn't breathe, and told them "I'm about to die."
