Is anyone ready to have the conversation about JYPE being marketed as a “open and friendly place for all artists” while simultaneously having some of the most strict rules and guidelines for their artists, specifically for their female idols...yes? No?
Let’s start with Chae’s hair, since that seems to be the go-to argument for y’all.

Chae got in massive amounts of trouble for cutting her hair without asking management. They literally brought her in, yelled at her, and then styled it to be the opposite of what she wanted.
Sumni literally left because of how CONTROLLING JYP and the rest of the company are when it comes to their images and how they perform.

And WG was pushed as a “self-made and produced GG” at the end of their career, even though that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Momo and JYPE’s shit-ass management telling Momo, someone who had already had her debut almost ripped away from her, was told to lose 15 pounds before debuting with LOA.

It was confirmed to be the debut showcase for LOA. The management made them change the subject..
Park Jimin, had to actually scream at JYPE on LIVE broadcast to allow her to release music and sing. At the time, she was still positively received and well-known. JYPE refused to release most of those songs.
Side note:

Though I will not be being up Sana and Tzu’s scandals in detail, please be aware that JYPE barred both of them from speaking on it entirely. Tzu’s video only happened after Tzu was able to convince JYPE to just let her apologize (even though she wasn’t at fault).
NY’s posted a photo on the official Twice insta page. The photo was deleted pretty quickly, almost instantly, and still to this day none of the girls have been able to directly talk about that traumatic moment. The only things we hear are comments made in relation to this..
JH’s costume issue:

Even though we all saw the photos, after the backlash JYPE was dead-silent. They didn’t release the DVD from that fanmeet and the girls have not ONCE mentioned what Jihyo was wearing. It’s like JYPE just thinks that ignoring it will make things go away.
Nayeon and Jeongyeon were literally told to “limit the amount of physical interactions” between them during trainee days due to the obvious underlying homophobia in JYPE. Nayeon was particularly hurt by this as she actively sought out Jeongyeon for support while trainees..
Back to the dieting:

Dahyun was forced to be on the same dieting program as Momo. Dahyun has stated that she hates thinking about her trainee days because of this..
Let’s talk about how, for the longest time, JYPE forced Jeongyeon into this role of “girl crush” so she wasn’t allowed to have long hair until just recently. The reason they kept JY’s hair short was because they wanted her to be “less feminine”.
JYP himself is an ass who is KNOWN to be a demon when it comes to micromanaging his artists. He, himself, even stated that is one of the reasons he stepped down as CEO, but that culture still exists within the company..

I could go on for days, but I’m sleepy.
Final thoughts:

The next time y’all want to pull that BS card that Twice, or really any of the female idols in JYPE, is getting “preferential treatment” over ya faves, just sit there and remember that your faves have solo insta accs and more autonomy than their female coworkers.
