This fabulous & intriguing art work by Asiru Olatunde (1918-1993) is located in foyer @WickhamTheatre @UoBrisTheatre @BristolUni.
Asiru Olatunde was one of Osogbo School of artists in 1960s.

When Prof Glynne Wickham was external examiner to Drama Dept @UniIbadan Nigeria he commissioned the panels from Asiru Olatunde in 1966. He wanted them for this position in foyer of theatre which was being constructed.

Osun Sacred Grove, on the outskirts of Osogbo, is regarded as abode of Osun (panel1) goddess of fertility in Yoruba religion. Now @UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Panels sent by air to Bristol and framed in the City Art Gallery @bristolmuseum. Presented to Drama Department (now @UoBrisTheatre) to mark opening of Vandyck Theatre (now @WickhamTheatre) by Princess Marina 19th March 1968.
