So this is the Army's handbook for counterinsurgent techniques. A thread for awareness.
In the case of the protests and police brutality this is something everyone should be aware of. Counterinsurgent techniques are used to get the counterinsurgent back on the same level with the insurgent.
Who is the insurgent and the counterinsurgent? The insurgent is in the case for the protests the police or national guard. The counterinsurgents are the protestors/rebels/rioters.
The few accounts people are mentioning about the police siding with the protestors could possibly (most likely) be a counterinsurgent tactic. We have seen examples of this in Flint, Miami and other cities.
This thread is for awarness, and to state that we can never really actually trust the police/military.
To end this thread, remember black lives matter, white silence is consent for police violence, the justice system was built and still continues to be built on hundreds of years of racism, and that all cops are bastards. 🤩
I feel like I should add an example of a successful counterinsurgent tactic, when DPD kneeled with the protestors, then 10 minutes later started to use brutality towards the protestors like tear gas.
