Why Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman are the most underrated fullback pairing in the premier league era, a thread:
1. They play for Everton.
2. After signing for £6 million and £60,000 respectively, Baines and Coleman performed consistently at a high level for almost a decade.
3. Leighton Baines holds the record for assists (as a defender) in the PL.
4. Baines and Coleman have directly contributed to 150+ goals for Everton.
5. Coleman’s composure in the final third when he signed was lacking, but it improved so much that in 2014 he was named in the PFA team of the season, he created 45 chances that season.

Roberto Martinez: "Coleman is one of the best full-backs in world football." Phenomenal 😏
6. In 2013/2014 Baines and Coleman were the best fullbacks in the league, Roberto Martinez used them perfectly for most of that season. Anyone else thinking about Seamus in the 3–0 Arsenal game?
7. The one regret, is while coming close so often, we weren’t able to win a trophy with them.
8. But now, with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, could we give Baines one more year and try again? Even the Carabao one, anything…
P.S. what a pairing Baines and Pienaar were. Thanks for reading. COYB!
