the lbc police chief here is applauding officers for not "overreacting," and saying he& #39;s proud of them. i& #39;m sorry??? that& #39;s.... their job?? ok

adolfo guzman lopez, a journalist, was hit in the throat by a rubber bullet at the protest yesterday. you know, bc a cop shot into the crowd. another reporter asks on his behalf if the city can comment. everyone is nervous & shrugs their shoulders. "internal review" they promise.

oh damn, another reporter asks if the identity of the officer who shot adolfo guzman lopez will be identified and dismissed. a great question. the police chief responds to the effect of: i don& #39;t know who it was but we& #39;ll know more when we know more

aaaand that& #39;s it. lbc holds the line on the police not arresting looters as the right tactical move. tbh, i& #39;m with them on that one -- would& #39;ve been a surefire path to escalation. the best way to de-escalate? defund the police. thank you and good day
