This is the moment to show our children that meaningful change can be achieved through peaceful means. I will vote for a repeal of section 50-a. However, I come from a family with several generations of police officers, & I have the highest respect for the men & women of the NYPD

As well as all law enforcement who put their lives on the line to protect and serve us everyday. That said, any officer who violates that oath or abuses their power must be removed. The attacks on our officers are indefensible, as are the killings of George Floyd, Ahmed Aubrey,

Breonna Taylor and the countless other Black lives that have been cut short due to systemic racism and injustice. The violence must end. (3/3)
