WHY I WAS ARRESTED AT THE PROTEST (A THREAD)
so yesterday i got to SM at about 12:30 id say? Walked with the huge group of protestors from the pier to venice beach and when we hit venice i lost eveyrone. It seemed like people were going home but they had walked back to the pier

As i thought i lost everyone i decided to uber home wed been walking until about 3, i got a text police were teargassing and the protest was at the pier so i went home to grab supplies, paint, waterballoons, milk baking soda whatever i could get my hands on

i got home about 3:45 got all my stuff and got back to venice about 4:30 all the roads were blocked going back. When i got there i joined this huge group standing on the street facing a police line, we took a knee for 10 minutes and were later pushed back by the line

THIS IS WHERE THEY GOT FUCKED UP
the police were backing us up calmly for a block but 2 girls were kneeling infront of them and they started pushing the crowd back harder, resulting in them shooting at us multiple times. They also changed the curfew when we were ALREADY out there

As the group from that street merged with one from the next street over they started boxing us in, backing us up to the other police then telling us we were under arrest. We did nothing violent, threw nothing, we were standing there and they just started grabbing everyone

they grabbed me first and then pulled 2 more minors out of the group, and then we were put in a transport van. They put me and a kid that was 6'3 in the solitary compartment MADE FOR ONE PERSON BRUH ONE PERSON!!! They also didnt give the girl who had barely given birth this week

her shoes while we were in the van!! we were screaming at the drivers to give her her shoes, they didnt stop so me and the dude next to me took our shoes off and kept screaming at them. We got taken to a mobile booking facility and its literally cages FUCKING CAGES

They arrested media people, had everyone locked in a single chain cage, then after being told we were minors repeatedly they took us to county, not juvie, county. We were in cells with no shoes or socks on for 6 hours, ignored all requests for food and people asked 4 blankets

they taunted us the entire time we were in there, constantly staring us down as wed look from our cell windows and turn the TV up when cops were arresting our people. They wanted this to happen, this was planned and organized by them!

wed scream to see our families or to get our phone call but never got it! They laughed at us while were in there, i wont forget what happened yesterday ever, nor will this make me stop protesting
