I found out (thanks to @AuracleDMG, @CircuitBird, @chipzel, @cyanidedansen + others) that those folks whose tracks were rejected from ChipWin comps were told showcasing them would make the group "look bad". I can only assume it's because in many cases these "rejects" were (1/6)
actually damn good tracks but may have caused people to question the judging process. But this practice only served to make musicians feel more ashamed of their work. So I want to start a thread giving everybody the opportunity to post these tracks anyway! I'll start! (2/6)
For the 5th comp I submitted "So It Begins", rejected. "Not Chip Enough" the feedback was. Today it is my #1 most requested live performance track. When I played it at MAGFest live the crowd erupted with "HOLY S**T! HOLY S**T!"

For the 6th comp I submitted "Mega City 6", rejected. "You added voices to the track which ruined it" was my feedback as if somehow adding a vocal is not "chip" enough. It now sits as #3 for all-time most popular on my Spotify.

For the 8th comp I submitted "Exortus", rejected. I didn't bother requesting feedback. When I released it, listeners said it was something that belongs in FF or Castlevania. Currently #5 for all-time most popular on my Spotify.

I want to hear YOUR tracks, the ones you submitted that didn't make it. This is not to s**t on the process, or anyone involved. I want to give you a platform to proudly share something I know you are proud of but didn't get a proper chance to show it! (6/6)
I also wanted to add that I personally never experienced any direct ill will from the people who ran ChipWin, but I also respect and recognize the legitimate grievances of those who did. This thread is simply addressing an issue I felt was an overall community grievance.
