I& #39;m in a position to help staff/recommend talent for a few upcoming OGNS/comics (PAID WORK!), and while I& #39;ve got a decent rolodex, I& #39;d love to add some new names to it.
Artists, writers, colorists - please link your #portfolio here! Recommendations and retweets encouraged!
1. I am not the writer on these - just find myself in the right place to help get some folks the work.
2. Given the state of...all the bullshit...it would be great to push more Black creators, LGBTQ+ creators, and creators left unemployed by pencils down policies/quarantine.
3. Obviously, you gotta be able to hit a deadline, but newer, up-and-coming, and even previously-unpublished talent is totally welcome. Encouraged, even. A few of these gigs are anthologies or single-chapters, the perfect thing to cut your teeth on.
4. Style on all of these is gonna be ALL OVER THE PLACE, so don& #39;t be afraid to drop your samples, even if you think you and I have different tastes! It& #39;s all about whoever& #39;s a good fit for some specific books, and I& #39;ll be looking at a huge variety of genres/tones.
5. Even if you don& #39;t end up on one of these specific books, I& #39;m making a point of compiling these creators into a spreadsheet with names, credits, and a general style description to pass onto publisher(s), and maintain a stable of new talent to reach out to. It can& #39;t hurt!
6. Last point - no matter where you& #39;re at in your career, specifically, if you think you might be ready for sequential comics work, don& #39;t be afraid to drop your stuff. I want to keep an eye on folks who I can recommend across the board, even months down the line. Shoot your shot!
Oh man this fucking blew up. Apologies if I don& #39;t get a chance to reply to every tweet directly, but I am absolutely going through every name and portfolio, rest assured!
Thank you all for your interest and spreading the word.
Damn it I& #39;m so fucking hype on all of you. Seriously. This thread is flooded with incredible talent, and I really hope editors from all over the industry are poking their heads in. Some seriously powerful creative teams are gonna get formed today!
