MPD+ICE DESTROY OUR COMMUNITIES

MPD breeds a culture of violence, terrorizes DC communities, and kills Black people in DC with immunity.

MPD also systematically helps ICE detain and deport DC immigrants. Today we reveal new evidence of MPD-ICE collusion.

MPD denies that it works with ICE, but here it is contacting ICE *twice* in December 2018 and January 2019 to detain a DC Ward 4 resident. With MPD's help, ICE detained the person, had him prosecuted by Trump's Department of Justice, and deported him.

This is FAR from the only case of MPD-ICE collusion.

And it happened AFTER the Council passed the #SanctuaryValuesAct, which made it illegal for DC officials to share info with ICE.

MPD is an extrajudicial agency that routinely violates DC law and its own policies. #ICEOutofDC

Politicians who always tell us that we need more cops to stay safe are dead wrong. They ignore the immeasurable harm MPD causes on Black and Brown communities. #WeKeepUsSafe

@MayorBowser proposed a $578 million budget for MPD, an outrageous $18.5 million increase from last year.

We join @StopCopTerrorDC and so many others in calling on DC leaders to #DivestfromMPD.

We must invest resources in real community needs, not a larger, more militarized police force.
