last year, i got into an altercation in LA after someone snatched my bag with 2K in cash and BOTH of my phones in it. a witness called 911.

police came, drove me to my house, didn’t believe i lived there and proceeded to arrest me.

only reason i got in the car is because they assured me i wasn’t under arrest. i told them “hey i just moved here, the person took both of my phones. so i don’t even know my address” but i could guide them there because i know what the area looks like.

“you don’t know your address”

no i just moved here.

“that’s strange, you sure you live here?”

they pulled up to the house and knocked on the door, a big ass house and it wasn’t the POLICE KNOCK, a fucking one knuckle knock.

they came back to the car, towards where i was in the back and said “nobody’s answering” proceeding to reach for their handcuffs.

“wait what’s going on? my room is in the back by the pool! if you go there it is unlocked and you’ll see a picture of me.”

“we’re not about to do all that” is what they told me.

i asked why they were arresting me..

and they didn’t even answer my question before trying to grab my arms. i panicked, pushed them as hard as i could.... knocking them over.

i began to run, i was dusting them... but ended up tripping over a chain, when i looked back i noticed they had they’re weapons drawn.

then in my mind im like.... i just brought these people to my house.

so i just laid there... one of them still proceeded to taze me.

then handcuff me, i had a huge cut on my wrist, (from falling) they put the handcuff tightly over my wrist that was clearly injured, and refused to loosen it... until i got to the booking station which was an entire hour away...

by time they took it off my it had created a deep cut in my wrist. blood covering the handcuffs. it wasn’t until i told them that i was HIV positive that anyone tried to clean me up. i’m certain that was only with THEIR best interest in mind.

i had over 30k worth of cartier jewelry, i tried to say i couldn’t take it off because i felt something was fishy, but lord behold they found a tiny screw. NEVER SAW THOSE AGAIN.

Luckily the charges were dismissed. Including “FELONY resisting arrest” but for me that was one of the scariest experiences because I thought they were coming to help me. And in a moment like that, I felt villainized. And no one can tell me it’s not because of the my skin color.

so this fight is extremely important TO ME because none of us are safe, we can’t even call the police to protect ourselves.
