Apologies are not made so that you burden others with the responsibility of forgiving you. Apologies are made because you are sorry. I have been feeling the guilt of years over the last number of days. Guilt I should have felt years before, but shrugged it off in comedy's name...
I am always willing to learn. Willing to look back and drop my head in shame at moments in my life where I could have been better. I write this, not to absolve myself from any past misgivings, but to hold myself accountable in the present and future. I vow these things...
To daily reflect on how I can do better. To use my platform as a megaphone for others so that they make speak loudly. To never try to explain away, but to listen and learn. To turn this guilt into action. To understand that all of this is years too late. And for that, I am sorry.
I'm here to help or get out of the way when the situation calls for it. I'll keep my guilt tucked behind my molar if ever I begin to forget what this is all about.

I'm here to join this fight.
