The phrase "outside agitator" implies there is some place beyond police violence. In truth, we all live inside America's violent, racist carceral system, and we all should be taking action to end it wherever it seeks to kill and maim. An injury to one is an injury to all.

It also implies that people of color need paternalistic direction in order to stand up for themselves, as if 500 years of grinding oppression was not motivation enough
