As you build your reading lists, and educate yourselves about Black narratives, make sure you not only study stories of identity and history and trauma, but uplift stories of love, and fantasy, and joy.
Read ALL AMERICAN BOYS, and THE BELLES. Read WHEN THEY CALL YOU A TERRORIST, and A BLADE SO BLACK. Read MEN WE REAPED, and THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS, and RIOT BABY, and KINDRED, and TRISTAN STRONG and THE GOOD LUCK GIRLS.
And don't just read books by Black authors/creators. Seek them out. Follow them online. Bring their voices into your feed. Listen to their podcasts and videos and instagram stories.
