The world treated Chinese, Korean, Italian, Irish and Japanese people like this at one time or the other in the 20th century. What changed their situation was that their countries became powerful, making it less attractive to mistreat them.

Emotions had nothing to do with it.
If there were just one or two of Africa's 54 countries that had a $1trn GDP, global mistreatment of black people would fizzle out as global mistreatment of Irish and Japanese once did too.

Black people are all too easy to bully because there are zero geopolitical repercussions.
