Following on from my previous thread, in my role I am going to do the following to support my BAME digital colleagues and make sure my work is as inclusive as possible.
Find out what work is going on for BAME colleagues in our region and actively support and amplify that work.
Make sure any training or leadership development work I am involved in is accessible and inclusive for BAME colleagues.
To speak to my BAME colleagues to really hear their experiences and use that in my work to try and decentre us from the white view.
Connect into the relevant charities in our region to make sure my work and strategies are based on a range of voices not just white ones.
Find ways to make sure any engagement we do around digital is inclusive of all communities.
There will be more and I will keep doing the work to learn about racism in healthcare (and wider) and be better. I will make mistakes but I would rather speak up learn from mistakes than be silent.
