There was no violence. No escalation. Just a black man probably around my age speaking from the heart and pleading to his better man.

His reward? Handcuffs.

That's why you're seeing the violence and the looting. Because they've proven time and time again that they aren't listening. So if we won't be heard, we'll make damn sure that we're seen.

Do I want to see this continued violence? No. Not at all.

But I refer back to my statement from the start of this thread.

We tried using the language of peace and compassion. But since they're not getting the message, we're deciding to use the language they know best.

To cap off this rambling thread, support people of color. Especially those literally fighting for our right to live.
