Hi everyone, I want to clarify some points:

1) Everyone on our team is working today. We are all-hands on getting together stories which are relevant for the time we are all experiencing. We are merely abstaining from publishing stories which might otherwise add noise.
2) I understand, and will be perfectly clear on, a lack of diversity in our own staffing. I can only speak to the issue under my leadership, and promise that it has been a priority for me in every decision I have made since I took the helm.
3) It is far from perfect, but I have tried to prioritize hiring freelancers of color, especially as it pertains to issues regarding those communities. Because of the current health crisis, my freelance budget is gone, and I am unable to do so for the foreseeable future.
4) Please know that everyone on our team is still dedicated to holding the industry accountable, now more than ever, and that we will do our best to tell those stories. We want Fashionista to stand for something in fashion. We will keep working towards that.
5) I understand not publishing today was an imperfect decision, and I am grateful to those who are calling me out and holding me accountable on the shortcomings here. I don't think it is nearly enough. But we are going to keep doing the work, I promise.
