A protester was shot and killed in Louisville last night. Are police wearing body cameras (and are they're turned on)? I asked Amy Hess, chief of public safety, this yesterday. Ahe said:

"I believe that is the case. But I do not have confirmation of that. We'll have to confirm."
I've reached out to LMPD to confirm this detail about body cameras and with other questions about the shooting.
*she
I just woke up so I'm still trying to confirm some of the basics of the incident.

Please note we do not know yet who shot the victim. We are expecting updates from LMPD sometime today.
Related, as far as I know the police still do not have suspects in the shooting with 7 victims from Thursday night not Saturday night’s shots fired at officers.

Full disclosure I was sort of “off” yesterday afternoon so I haven’t seen all the mayor’s updates in their entirety.

Just noticed another typo. Are *they turned on?

Some follow ups to my initial tweet in this thread:

- I'm understanding now the victim may not have been a protester, but rather someone in a crowd. I unintentionally conflated the protests and the shooting (though the protests are why the National Guard is here). I apologize.
