The last few days has weighed heavy on my heart witnessing the injustice black people continue to face around the world. Here are 4 ways you can step up and take action to support the black community TODAY
/4 Donate and support the great work being done by organisations such as @yourrightscamp, @ColorOfChange, @reclaimtheblock and @BlackVisionsMN in the US. In the UK support the work being done by @JoinKwanda and @BYPNetworkApp
/4 It’s not enough to not be racist, take time to listen and truly understand the experiences of black people. @MandelaSH shared her personal experience in 2016, and it remains as relevant today as ever https://medium.com/kapor-the-bridge/my-white-boss-talked-about-race-in-america-and-this-is-what-happened-fe10f1a00726#.k97fc492d
/4 For VCs and organisations supporting entrepreneurs, recognise the bias black entrepreneurs face and take action to ensure diversity efforts go beyond gender. You can also support the programmes led by @foundervine, @thisisYSYS, @Colorintechorg and @cornerstone_LDN
/4 Statements from major brands are great but real change will happen in board meetings, in offices and the wider workplace. It's time to take action towards ensuring the workplace is fully representative of society at all levels.
