I saw people posting this last month but I thought it would've been awkward to start doing a daily challenge in the middle of a month so I'll start this today
Choosing one favorite title screen music is really hard but after a lot of consideration, I think this might be my favorite. It's such a beautiful song and perfectly sets the mood for what kind of game 3rd is
I immediately knew my choice of opening stage would be from Etrian Odyssey but choosing which EO to represent was harder than I expected. But in the end, I had to go with Untold because that first hope filled step was so unforgettable
Last year I played through all the NES Mega Man games for the first time, and while the whole series was full of fantastic bangers, I think this song stood out to me the most
Console exclusive is such a broad term that it'd be boring to just pick some 1st party series, so let's go with something from Trauma Center since it's a 3rd party series that's always been on Nintendo consoles and the soundtracks are fantastic
World map isn't really the same thing as hub/overworld so choosing this is technically cheating but it's one of the most beautiful video game songs I've ever heard so I have to put it here
Listening to this song always makes my mind feel peaceful. When playing Zero I ended up spending a ton of time just walking around Crossbell's downtown for no reason because this song always made me feel so calm and relaxed
I haven't really played many indie games with great soundtracks so I had a lot of trouble coming up with a song for this day but Fairy Bloom Freesia had a pretty cool soundtrack
This probably doesn't come as a surprise but I have very limited experience with shooters so picking a song here was a little hard. But TimeSplitters is one of the few shooters I've played actively and its soundtrack has quite a few bangers
I rarely play any licensed games so this was also a hard choice but DBZ Tenkaichi 3 has some cool songs
I was overall very disappointed by Mana Khemia 2 but Chaotic Moon is quite possibly the greatest regular battle theme in RPG history. I love it so much
This could go for day 26 too since I haven't actually played any Puzzle & Dragons games but a while ago Yuzo Koshiro posted this on his youtube channel and I fell in love with this song
This might be kind of a weird take but I've always thought this song is incredibly sad. I don't really even know why but it really makes me sad every time I listen to it, even more than the actual sad songs from Kingdom Hearts
Agarest is a dogshit game but its soundtrack is actually fantastic and it doesn't deserve to be wasted on a game as bad as Agarest
Normally I really don't like it when localisers dub over JP songs but Wild Arms 3 did an amazing job with the dubbed vocals
Granblue has an amazing soundtrack but even after all these years, Leviathan's theme is still one of my top favorite songs in the game. It's just a really wonderful boss theme
I can't think of anything interesting to say about this one. Romancing SaGa 3 is a fantastic game and this is a wonderful theme
After listening to every possible arrange (both official and fan made) of this song, I think it's safe to say it's something I'll never get tired of. It's not only my favorite EO song but one of my top favorite video game songs in general
Chrono Trigger was released the year I was born in so here's something from that. Unfortunately this song was never used in the game (until the bonus dungeon of the DS version) but it's always been my favorite song in the game
I assume different artist means a fan made arrange and not an official arrange that just happened to be made by someone other than the original composer. So here's Hyadain's vocal arrange of Romancing SaGa's boss theme
Not much I can say about this track, it's just a really good song. Kirby Air Ride 2 when?
I spent countless hours on this stage in story mode. That intro still makes me shiver every time I hear it
I think Etrian Odyssey has always had some of the greatest town themes in any video game but Koshiro really outdid himself with V's town theme. This is an incredible song and easily one of Koshiro's best songs of all time
I dunno how to define underrated since most songs I've posted could count as underrated, so let's go with an under appreciated song from a popular game. I've always thought this is the best original song in Smash and it deserves more love from people
Recently this has been stuck on my head constantly. Honestly one of the best boss themes in the whole series
Xenoblade always has amazing field themes that get you pumped, but even among all of those, nothing hit me as hard as Mor Ardain's theme. Once this starts playing you just want to run around and beat up everything you see
Everyone hates ORAS so I never bothered playing it but the soundtrack is really good
Handheld game is kind of a boring category because of how broad it is but I haven't posted any Stella Glow music yet so here's a good opportunity to shill that game's wonderful soundtrack
I think EoSD's entire soundtrack feels very nostalgic to me but the stage 1 song in particular always makes me feel nostalgic because that's where my Touhou journey began and it's also the stage I've played the most
As a side note, it took me years to realise the "ground cherry" in the song's title refers to a cherry that has ben smashed, not a cherry that's on the ground
Mixing flamenco with latin choir is a combination that should never work but somehow Kobayashi managed to turn that into one of the greatest final boss themes of all time
We've now reached the end of the music meme. There's a lot of credits themes that I really love so this is a hard pick but since I haven't featured any Ys music here yet, let's go with Ys IX because it's such an incredible song
I'm not sure how many people actually even checked out any of the songs I've posted in this thread but I'm happy if I was able to introduce some great music to at least one person
