Let‘s start the new month of June with a new 🎶 30-day-song-challenge thread. One song each day! Will you join my musical journey?
#30DaySongChallenge
DAY 1: A song that opens a favourite album 💿
I go for BIG LOVE from Tango in the Night by Fleetwood Mac, also my favourite song from the album and one of my #80s favourites! 🎶😍🥇
#FleetwoodMac

DAY 2: A song with a one word title

I‘ve chosen DRIVE by The Cars from 1984. Their biggest success in Germany to date, it peaked at # 4 in Oct `84 and was in the 🇩🇪charts for 17 weeks. Still very 📻 friendly, liked it this morning.
#TheCars

Day 3: A song with a long title

Thinking Billy Ocean is always a bit underrated in my tweets, although I really liked him in the #80s . My first song this morning, and it feels perfect for today: 🎶When the going gets tough, the tough get going🎶!

Day 4: A song from the year you graduated high school

We don‘t have exactly high school, but this song is strongly connected with the time I made my Abitur at my local Gymnasium. I bought the CD single of Electric Youth the day I had my final exam. YAY!😃

DAY 5: A song that makes you think of a place

The beautiful Martha‘s Harbour by All About Eve causes images of Montreal🇨🇦 in my head. It still reminds me strongly of Mont Royal Park and the amazing sight on the city from high above I will never forget.😍

DAY 6: A song that makes you think of family

This #Eurovision winner from 1979 did not just unite Europe on the scoreboard, but also my whole family in the living room!
All members of my family loved it and still do: 🎶Hallelujah🎶!

DAY 7: A song that makes you think of a friend

The Motive by Then Jerico will always be THE ONE. 💔😢

Day 8: A song you‘d play for your crush

I‘d pick this favourite song from one of the best albums ever for my crush: ⭐️STARS ⭐️ by Simply Red! Hopelessly romantic!!! 🎶♥️

DAY 9: A song that starts with the first letter of your name

I picked a double „W“ song for today: 🎶Wishing Well 🎶by Terence Trent D‘arby was one of my favourite songs in 1987, and still is today! 🎶😍

DAY 10: A song that references food

Since it‘s the season for an🍦, I picked this great advertising hit from`85: 🎶Like ice in the sunshine🎶 by Beagle Music Ltd.🍦
So don‘t forget to eat your icecream on the beach 🏖 today ...or in the rainy garden!😂

Day 11: A song by a hometown artist

Juliane Werding was our hometown girl back in the days of the #80s . Always loved to see her having the no.🥇 German language song on Hitparade. This is her great German cover of Moonlight Shadow: Nacht Voll Schatten!

I picked HER as my featured artist for today! 💿🎶😃👍

DAY 12: A song from the #80s

I‘m in a good mood today, the sun‘s shining ☀️, and this is my party 🎉 song for tonight, and the first one on the 📻 this mornining: Swing-Out Sister and BREAKOUT!
Still love it! 🥳🕺🙌

DAY 13: A song from the #90s

Today I‘ve got for you nothing less than my FAVOURITE song from the 90‘s. 🎶Sleeping Satellite 🎶by Tasmin Archer is an adorable masterpiece. 🎶♥️

DAY 14: A song from the current year

Dua Lipa released album no. 2 this year, and this is one of my favourite songs from it.
🎶Let‘s get PHYSICAL!🎶😍
DAY 15:A song people wouldn‘t expect you to like

I have always been a big fan of the Monty Python group. They are among my favourite comedians ever, and The Life of Brian is a favourite cult movie.
So Always look on the Bright Side of Life makes my day!😂

DAY 16: A song by an artist from another country

Let‘s move to Turkey🇹🇷 for my fave artist from the #90s & #00s ! 🎶Hepsi Senin Mi🎶 reminds me of a wonderful summer holiday🏖 in Turkey in 1994, and Aacayipsin was THE album I discovered TARKAN through.

DAY 17: A song that features horns

Not just a great song that features horns, but also one of the best music video clips ever.
The remarkable 🎶Sledgehammer🎶 by Peter Gabriel gets my song vote for today!

Day 18: A song with a location in the title

Wuthering Heights is a 16th century farmhouse in the Yorkshire moors and still a place on my list to visit. Kate did this unique masterpiece in 1978 which will forever be holy. Kate‘s 🎶 my only master 🎶♥️.

Day 19: A song that gets you in your feelings

The beauty of this ballad totally gets me every time I listen to it.
And the lyrics are full of #80s memories to me! I looove 🎶Piano in the Dark🎶 by Brenda Russell. 🎹♥️😭🙏

Day 20: A song with a favourite lyric

The first song I thought of was this one:
🎶 So why can't we be still why can't we love each other
Is kindness an ancient skill buried by our blindness
And if we look behind us
there's a wind blowing in
to create the AGE OF REASON 🎶
Day 21: A song with no lyrics

This song doesn‘t need any lyrics to be among my favourite tunes ever. The beautiful SONGBIRD by Kenny G always feels like a warm summer breeze to me! Nice start for a Sunday morning! 🎶☀️😎♥️
☕️
Day 22: A song that‘s on repeat for you right now

For a whole month now, Ilse is still on repeat for me with her new album Changes. 💿
She shows that she can do more than country music!
A great pop song! 🎶😍
#ilsedelange

Day 23: A song to wake up to💦

My favourite summer hit of 1989 is totally a song to wake up to for me. Maldón feels like a bucket of cold water right into your face!💧😂
🎶La musique dans La peau🎶
Gooood morning! ☕️ 🥯

Day 24: A song that makes you laugh

🎶John Wayne is big leggy🎶 has always been a favourite guilty pleasure song and it still makes me laugh! 😂😁😆

Day 25: A song you‘ve seen performed live

I loved this song in 1983, and it took me 36 years to see him performing it live last summer. Tony Hadley is an excellent live artist with a great voice, 🎶that much is TRUE🎶! 🎙😍🙏

#SpandauBallet
Day 26: A song you remember from a movie

As if it was yesterday I do remember this song from the movie 🎞Indecent Proposal🎞. It‘s among my favourite love themes from a movie ever: the brilliant 🎶In all the right places🎶by lovely Lisa Stansfield! ♥️

Day 27: A song you remember from TV 📺

I do remember Yello🇨🇭got the main theme to my favourite #80s charts show Formel Eins in 1988. Playing it in the show every week, The Race 🏎 became their only top 5 hit in 🇩🇪. Teasy was happy! 🎶😊
#Yello

Day 28: A song you liked as a teen

„Liked“ is probably not the right word! I adored Kajagoogoo and Limahl was a pop idol to me. Apart from that, this song described me quite well as a teenager: TOO SHY!!! 🎶😂
#Kajagoogoo
#Limahl

Day 29: A song that tells a story

This story is hauntingly brilliant and reminded me strongly of Twin Peaks which I loved. It‘s Richard Marx‘ best song and it takes place in HAZARD.
#RichardMarx

Day 30: A song that closes a favourite album

As Vanessa Williams once said: I saved the best for last!
From my favourite Roxette album „Look Sharp!“ this is the beautiful final song „Listen to your heart“ to finish this thread today. 🎶💿😍
#Roxette

End of the month, end of this thread! 🧵 ✅

Thank you for joining in during the month! 🙏😃
My last question to you now is:
