Happy #PrideMonth everyone. It's important, that we not only celebrate people in the #LGBTQ+ community but keep striving to create a more just and equal society. Especially for the #trans community, especially for #poc and members of minority communities.

We should remember that it's not a charity we are extending to those, who are part of more vulnerable communities. People in the #blacktrans community were the pioneers in the strive for #lgbtq+ justice. They led the way and enabled us to reap the benefits of their struggle.

As #BPoC once again are forced to fight against discrimination, police brutality and their 'right to breath', we should keep in mind that, #Blacklgbtq+ are even more subjected to discrimination, violence & Injustice.

In the strive for justice we should not leave them behind.

Ppl who arent #lgbtq+ should use this month to be better allies. That starts with learning about it

But don't be that person who bombards ppl in the lgbtq+ community with questions. Even if its well intentioned, it still can seem like being asked to justify the own existence

Do your homework first. Google exists, learn about it. Read books, I think these ones would be a good start

- "Transgender History: The Roots of Today’s Revolution" by Susan Stryker

- "Black on Both Sides" by C. Riley Snorton

- 'Tomorrow Will Be Different" by S. McBride

Being part of the #Ahmadiyya Jama'at I want to use #PrideMonth2020 to raise awareness of the religious & cultural bigotry that lgbtq+ people still face in the community

I want them to know, you are not alone in your struggles. You are valued, loved, deserve dignity& equality
6/8
To those who are still in the closet, b/c they fear to be shamed & shunned. Even if I dont know you personally, I'm aware of ur pain

Let's keep working to create an environment in the community that allows ppl to live an authentic life w/o making them feel they are "broken"
