I can't relate bro.

You know who else can't relate? A lot of upstanding men who do their jobs, take care of their families, respect everyone who deserves respect irrespective of their gender. Men who do the thankless jobs that can only be done by men, who keep society moving. https://twitter.com/Sazzy_imas/status/1267089878975733763
Men who love thier wives and protect their children.
Men who do the hard jobs that other people do not want to do even while being termed toxic.

Men who have used their power, strength and position to defend the voiceless. Men who have withstood persecution for fighting for the rights of their people.
Men who have moved the world forward. Who have innovated and created and given us those same tools with which we use to try convict all men for the sins of other men.
Men who have risen past their disabilities to become a blessing unto us and entertain us.
Men who have been killed for standing by that which they believe in and speaking truth to power.
Men who inspire us.
Men who lead us in the face of danger.
Because of them we are PROUD to be men. We want to be them and raise sons like them.

We are men, UNASHAMED.

We are men. And we would not let the stories and lives of these men be rubbished by those who have let our gender down.
When a terrorist hurts people with his wicked ways claiming he/she did it in the name of Allah. Should all Muslims be ashamed of worshipping Allah?
When two women in a marraige, adopt 5 children. Put all of them in a car and drive the car off a cliff. Should all women be ashamed.

No!

Let everyone answer their own names and be held accountable for their own sins.
In the paraphrased words of Chimamanda "The actions of one man should not be representative of all men".

We should look for inspiration in the men that have given a good account of their lives as men. They are the models for us. Not rapists.
We should not be ashamed for the sins or murderers and terrorists and thieves. We should bring them to justice and come together in our strength and power to say that we reject their actions.

But group guilt. Nah!
A lot of men still do great things and are doing great things write now, we should not use the actions of the erring to paint over their own lives just because they are penis carriers.

I'm not ashamed to be a man and I'll never be.

The world needs men.
If the actions of bad men have made you unproud to be male. You need to revisit who your role models are and who you give power over your emotions.
