ok so i’ve been thinking about a lot of things recently regarding the matter going on overseas and seeing so many different posts. this is all my thoughts and feelings so i hope you respect it
first, i saw a tweet regarding kfans on lysn saying that foreign fans shouldn’t post anything on blm. of course i am very grateful many foreign fans are trying to spread the matter to their idols. (i am korean myself) Day6 Jae and i believe BamBam from Got7(i’m unsure about got7)
have donated a generous amount to the funds and i admire them. i do want to remind you that lysn is a platform by SM for fans to interact with idols. i understand you want to try and spread the matter to them, but you can do it on twitter where it is more likely noticed.
many fans use lysn to interact with them, i don’t think by spamming about blm would be nice since other fans want to interact with them. however, on behalf of kfans who have been quite rude on this matter to foreign fans, i apologise sincerely.
things like this where it doesn’t concern us entirely, sometimes doesn’t give us the point of view where we have to be involved in this too. of course there are kfans who try their best to support the movement and i am glad to know there are people like them.
second, i see many ncitizens trying to reach out to them all while saying something along the lines of “johnny is from chicago, i hope he donates to support the movement” or “smtownglobal but i don’t see anything global about what they are doing about the movement”.
yes johnny is from chicago, but do remember that he is still under sm. involving in a matter very big like this creates much attention even now as they are promoting. it’s nice if they support, but there are many other ways you can try to talk to them about this matter.
do not use his hometown as an excuse. next, SMTOWNGLOBAL doesn’t mean for them to be involved in anything that is overseas at any point of time. it’s called SMTOWNGLOBAL because their music is promoted globally across the world and to foreign fans.
it is not to show that they MUST or should have to involve themselves in any matter globally. SM is a big company itself, i don’t think you expect the whole company to be involved. spread the movement nicely, not using idols hometown or personal life as an excuse.
using the word GLOBAL just from SMTOWNGLOBAL is also not an excused to be trying to let them to support this movement. there are many eyes watching them in korea, you should know this too. how easy it is for something to blow up fast.
third, you can continue to support your idols while supporting this movement. honestly, there is no need for you to stop anything. the movement is more important and i agree. but what if idols didn’t know what was going on? they’re busy people.
they are not on social media or can watched the news 24/7. i suggest to lay it off abit. don’t spam so much to their entertainments, instead try to spread it more on your own sns.
지금까지는 그게 전부야. 앞으로도 팬분들의 아이돌과 움직임 모두 응원해 주시길 바랍니다. 문의할 사항이 있으면 언제든지 문의해 주십시오. 감사합니다.
