Visitors flocked to beaches in Bournemouth over both days of another sunny weekend but BCP Council leader Vikki Slade said staff have been treated appalling while they attempted to keep people safe.

Michael Wiley, who lives in Southampton, leapt in the water to save two people who had leapt from the arch at the Purbeck beauty spot on Sunday. He said: "I haven't had much sleep - I've just been replaying it in my head."

South Dorset MP Richard Drax praised the work of all the emergency services at the Purbeck beauty spot on Sunday although admitted they only had to carry out the rescue due to “acts of stupidity”.
4) Inflatable island drifting off Sandbanks with young children on board had no oars or lifejackets https://bit.ly/3doiFzV 
The adults on the inflatable were given "strong words of advice" by a coastguard team after the rescue.
