3. He was transferred to the notorious 4th floor (CID HQ) and in July 2009 forced to participate in a staged press conference with his arm in a sling. He had been trained to deny everything he’d told the media before.
His wife was threatened, he was threatened, he was denied essential surgery on his arm and hand (necessary for a surgeon) - he says he learned by heart the fake answers to give at the news conference. He was forced to deny the extent of civilian casualties in the war.
