I was saying this back in 2006.
A brand manager of an insurance company who came to visit the newspaper I used to work for, almost got into a fist fight with me.
LIC wouldn't advertise in the paper because we kept calling out their Ulips. https://twitter.com/BimalJaalan/status/1266986762162679809
I still remember one Ulip having a policy administration charge of 48% of the first year's premium.
Policy administration is the money spent on stuff like envelopes, courier etc.
How could the regulator clear something like this?
Up until I wrote regularly on personal finance, I used to call IRDA an insurance lobby and not a regulator.
It's a fake account. But then my points are relevant. So, the tweets stay.
