this week marks (more or less) four years since I walked away from gainful full time employment and went freelance. it's been... emotional. paradoxically the best and worst decision I ever made, depending on when you ask
working for myself immediately unlocked freedom to do what I went creatively, as well as being absolutely necessary in parenting terms in the first couple of years especially, but the sheer chaos and stress that's come with it has been pretty significant
the stability of a steady wage is something I reaaaally miss, but I'm still not sure I'm ever going to be able to give up having the ability to do whatever I want, on my own schedule. I've no idea what my job even *is* any more, but I quite like it that way, for now.
