when you send cops into situations that they perceive as life threatning, overworked, sleep deprived and with streched goals ("restore the peace" vs "reduce violence") aggression and violence will ensue. add military grade weapons into the mix and the situation blows up

during my time in the military (IDF, not US) i& #39;ve often wondered why we were put in difficult situations that were easy to solve systemically. constantly overworked, sleep deprived, fearfull for our lives, armed only with desctrutive weapons. extreme violence the only choice

whether this was deliberate or simply convinient is immaterial. it is beneficial to someone directing the system. the people on the ground cannot solve this themselves. the police did not become violent in one day, the US did not become racist overnight. deep reforms are needed
