The most badass black guy I ever knew, named Brian—I used to follow around & praise him as a genius.

He was an outrageous personality, listened to techno b4 anyone else, huge dude w a big heart.

He taught me to "sacrifice the body" by being careless w feats of physical agility.
He would shout "sacrifice the body!" before doing something like running up a tree & trying to backflip off it like in the matrix.

His house was maticulously clean. His dad was also a huge man w big heart, very smart & well put-together, conspicuously serious, strict & religious
I grew up in a protestant Church of Christ in the Midwest, surrounding by tons of fawning, kind-hearted black women w joyous laughter & mirth. I enjoyed their culture & was always curious about them.

Black people are reputed beyond any other race for possessing the key to joy.
There's no moral to this thread, just want to write some of my experiences w these people. I love them, grew up w them, but as I grow up & find out more about my own culture/ppl—which has been notoriously hidden from me my whole life—I find myslf angry at black on white violence.
And the hypocrisy of the media in hiding it, among other things.
