We must remember George Floyd every minute of this. But we can’t forget about the pandemic’s economic and social devastation in Los Angeles. People cannot feed their families.
If they are lucky to be working, they are risking their family’s health.

Young people lost school and their entire social life. They’ve been stuck at home with their parents who are either working or suddenly unemployed. Minors are too young to get a $1,200 stimulus check. If they hoped for a summer job, it’s now unlikely as stores cut employees.
All this doesn’t justify looting stores but it sure does explain it.
