What’s scaring me rn is that whats on social media isnt the same as whats on the news AT ALL. That means the people who arent on social media (aka the majority of the country) are only seeing what the regulated news stations want them to see, and they have no idea.
Ive watched CNN & Fox and both stations are reporting different things, but never the whole story. Ive seen HUNDREDS of videos from this weekend of police assaulting anyone within 200ft of them, not just protesters/rioters/looters, but I havent seen 1 of those videos on TV.
My mother, who relies solely on the news or FB for information, didnt even know an*nymous was back and she STILL has no idea what theyve done, MILLIONS of people dont. We’re all on here watching the live streams, sharing the videos, reading eachothers stories.
But think about ur friends who “dont use Twitter much” or ur parents/grandparents who dont use anything?? Theyre being fed an imaginary story and they have no idea, bc we’re SUPPOSED to be able to trust the news. it’s scary to see.
Some examples of what’s not being shown on mainstream televised news stations:
What these officers push a white woman away and then drag her black friend to the ground go arrest her.
Richmond police shooting tear gas into somebody’s home just for looking out their window.
A rancho cordova officer beating a 14 year old boy, Elijah. Local news stations reported the small child was “resisting arrest”
NYPD
NYPD 2, the girl hit her head so hard she had a seizure and was hospitalized.
Here’s a 3rd video of NYPD just in this one thread, but all we heard about on the news was the car that was on fire.
Local news stations seem to be reporting these kinds of incidents where the police are shooting nurses or reporters, but they’re not being shown in other cities reporting the protests.
Another reporter being arrested in Minneapolis, clearly away from all of the protesters, has credentials visible.
NYPD part 4, officer in Times Square flashes the “white power” symbol st the camera while his colleagues laugh and cheer him on.
A reporter takin shelter and screaming that he’s with the press, shows his badge, and a Minneapolis police officer responds “I don’t care” before shoving him.
#seattle look at his knee on his neck, look familiar?
His hands are up in the air and the cop pulls his mask down to spray him directly in the face.
