a friendly reminder that social media isn& #39;t everything. it& #39;s just unfair for one to judge another person based on the 5% of their personality that& #39;s seen on social media. different people have different ways to cope with the current global news. some people may prefer to educate+ https://twitter.com/IovenfalI/status/1267138101794811905">https://twitter.com/IovenfalI...
themselves and their peers, sign petitions, donate, and etc. offline and not post about it on social media, and that& #39;s okay. i do get that artists should use their platforms for speaking up about these issues but isn& #39;t it also better for them to read more about this +
and be more well-informed before posting about it? posting about blm is not a trend that should make ppl obliged to do. blm is more on eradicating the issue of racism that& #39;s long been running within our society. we can& #39;t take that out just by simply posting about it.
i just hope people will be a little bit more patient not just with artists but also with other people who seem to be "neutral" or "indifferent" about these issues. maybe they& #39;re still taking their time educating themselves to have sufficient knowledge on it before speaking up.
give them the benefit of the doubt. i think it& #39;s better rather than just blindly contributing to performative activism.
