I have:
- Feared walking my dog at night in my neighborhood and having the police called on me

- I have been profiled because of my race, because I wore a hood, because I once owed a bandana, because I was listening to Dr. Dre in my car,
Because I walked into a Holt's once and "you people" don't usually shop here (I then bought a nice watch as a fuck you).

- I was told by a teacher in 8th grade to keep working on my jumper as that was probably my only way to Uni.
- I have been tailed by Peel Police multiple times while driving in Meadowdale.
- I have been pulled for additional screening at the airport 6 of the past 7 flights I've taken.
- I have been met with shock at a job interview because "you didn't sound black on the phone".
- I have lingering fears of going to my wife's hometown because they can count the number of PoC's on their hand. (although I met nothing but lovely people there).

- I have been called a nigger to my face in Toronto x 3, Mississauga x 2, Brampton, Paris and Therold, Ontario.
These are my experiences and fears as a black man and they all exist here in Canada. If you are white and are truly starting to see your privilege and want someway to help, listen to us, hear our experiences and help us make change.
