Feels like we are up against something much larger than us. Generations of pain and violence are bubbling to the surface like magma beneath the surface of our nation.

Can I ever know another person’s pain? Can I truly listen to a different perspective?
I pray for the United States of America. That can rise up above what we’ve been. Above our racism, above our fears, above our pride, above our self destructive tendencies.

Instead of a show let there be a flood of justice.
If you’re a police officer tonight, You have a huge responsibility: “serve and protect.” You are serving your brothers, your sisters.

If you are picketing and protesting tonight, love your neighbors. Please, resist resorting to the brutality that you’re protesting.
Find someone different than you and walk with them. And learn and love.

Protest, picket, talk it through. Be angry. Be sad. Listen. Learn. But whatever you do, do it in love.
