I just keep thinking: “demand more. take up more space. don’t settle for less than what you need.” There is power in this moment- ask for more.

There are opportunities for gains to be made in the long march toward justice and autonomy. Phoenixes out of ashes, in a sense.
We need to be asking for more in whatever bigger or smaller ways we all can. In as many domains as we can.

What are we going to allow to continue in the Minneapolis we need to (re)build when the fires stop? How do we claim more back for the people who are being left behind?
In Minneapolis these burned out building sites *will* be rebuilt. And either they will be snapped up by wealth-minded gentrifiers or we will step up and hold the line to protect the community history, culture, and shared assets. We need to protect what we had and transform it.
Have you seen this city? We ALREADY HAVE ABUNDANCE we just need to sustain that mindset and reject a scarcity mindset.

We can & must demand better quality of life for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color and for all people oppressed by a world of settler colonial greed.
This city is demonstrating community care, mutual aid, defense and fire brigades, sanctuaries for the houseless, diversity of tactics, and and redistribution of MONEY. We’re learning how to build autonomy outside of the oppression and austerity of the state.
I don’t know. I just want to celebrate all the radical efforts being made. I want to harness the community power we are seeing. People are doing what they can in hyperlocal ways (reminds me of Venezuelan ‘communes’) which, to me, is the best scale to do real community building.
