Thoughts from my first time back at Mass since Church’s had to close their doors for the safety/health of the public
While the priest didn’t talk about any of the ongoing events of this past week, in his homily he spoke of the four aspects we identify our Church with. One, Holy,
Catholic, and Apostolic. The last one, of course, is the sending out and carrying out the great commission Christ has assigned to us. And as I think about what that looks like in regards to the ongoing protests and what not I think about how if Jesus were physically here on earth
he’d be at the front of every protest, putting himself in harms way for those that are being oppressed. For those that are being marginalized in our society. And I know that would be true because I believe Jesus is who he says he is. And if you identify as a Christian, practicing
or not, I’d dare to say that if you don’t see the point in the protests, if you don’t believe all lives don’t matter until black lives matter, then you don’t accept Jesus as he was, is, and forever will be #BLM #
